Innovation Boost – Vaasa Region
- Project duration: 1.1.2025 – 31.12.2026
- VASEK's total budget during the project time EUR 138 600
- Funding: Support for Sustainable Growth and Vitality of Regions allocation

In the Vaasa region, particularly large companies invest significantly in research, development, and innovation (RDI) activities. However, the primary challenge for the region's trade and industry lies in the growth and development activities of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Despite the diverse business environment, relatively few companies are classified as growth companies.
The objective of this project is to engage SMEs in the Vaasa region in RDI activities, encompassing both manufacturing and service sector companies. The project will provide these companies with information about the region's test environments, available funding opportunities, and the protection of intellectual property rights (IPR).
Furthermore, the project will implement practical measures to integrate artificial intelligence (AI) and drone technology into business operations.
The aim is to increase the number of SMEs in the region that undertake their own RDI activities and to enhance the competitiveness of these companies. The project's initiatives align with the Ostrobothnia regional strategy and the Smart Specialisation strategy.
