The impact model assessed the direct and indirect effects of the battery cluster investments planned for the GigaVaasa area in Vaasa and Mustasaari on employment, output, added value, and tax revenues, as well as the regional distribution of the effects in the Vaasa region and the whole country.

There is a tough competition between cities and municipalities to attract talents for businesses and public sector jobs in the region. Vaasa also needs to stand out in the crowd, which is why we are launching the fourth national campaign, made as a cooperation between Vaasanseudun Kehitys Oy VASEK, the City of Vaasa and six companies in the region. The campaign highlights the significant jobs available in the Vaasa region and it is a part of the image work done jointly by the City of Vaasa and VASEK.

Shanghai Shanshan Lithium Battery Materials Technology Co (later Shanshan) has made a planning reservation on a plot in the GigaVaasa area for the construction of an anode materials factory. Plot 3019 in Korsholm has now been pre-reserved for the factory. Shanshan is planning to build a 100, 000 ton production site for anode materials.
