Vaasa Wind Exchange Aggregates Operators in the Field of Wind Power in March

04.02.2011

Vaasa Region Development Company VASEK and Merinova Technology Centre invite the most important operators in the field of wind power in Finland and the neighbouring region to Vaasa on Tuesday 22nd March. The Vaasa Wind Exchange event offers the manufacturers and developers of wind power and the authorities controlling the construction of wind power plants an opportunity to discuss the development possibilities of this energy form.

"We decided to launch this fairly large project after receiving requests from both domestic and foreign operators for a business card exchange event, during which participants could meet other operators in the field and find new solutions and approaches," says VASEK's Senior Business Advisor Raine Vasanoja who is responsible for international operations.

Open Platform

Vaasa Wind Exchange is not a seminar or an actual trade fair but an event for exchanging business cards, designed to facilitate cooperation. It offers various wind power operators an opportunity to make new contacts and strengthen their existing ones.

"We will invite 30-50 exhibitors who are interested in Finnish wind power - for example, turbine manufacturers, contract manufacturers, subcontractors, service companies, development operators, landowners, municipalities, environmental authorities, universities and other organisations. In addition to these, we expect hundreds of visitors who are interested in the development and construction of wind power to attend. Registration for the event has started on the EnergyVaasa website," says Vasanoja.

He describes the Vaasa Wind Exchange event as a day-long coffee break seminar - after all, the coffee break at a seminar is usually the best time to make new acquaintances and exchange views. The Radisson Blu Royal Hotel and its meeting services offer an excellent setting for the event.

Visibility for Energy Know-How

"An event organised in this region is also interesting to experts and company representatives coming from further afield, because there is a lot of know-how and technology in the production and distribution of electricity in this area. The event will boost the visibility of energy competence in the Vaasa region and bring many new contacts for the area's companies," Vasanoja states.

VASEK and Merinova Technology Centre will organise the Vaasa Wind Exchange event in cooperation with Novia University of Applied Sciences. Other partners include the Regional Council of Ostrobothnia, Ostrobothnia Chamber of Commerce and Vaasa Energy Institute.
