It is therefore important to make sure that the information in the register clearly tells people what your company does and what products or services you offer.

The official industry registered for your company does not always fully describe what your company actually does. In the service directory, you can give more specific information about your company's skills and services.

– When you update your company information, you can choose to edit the category of your company in the service directory to better describe your services. The official industry registered for a company is often a little different from what the company actually does. The service directory makes it easier to find different services, says Johanna Hietikko-Koljonen, Communications Manager at VASEK.

Describe your services and products clearly

It is worth spending some time describing your company's products and services. A good description helps customers understand what your company offers and makes your company easier to find in the register.

Describe your services and products as clearly and specifically as possible. For example, think about: What services does your company offer? What products do you sell? Who are your services for? In which cities or areas do you operate?

When possible, write the descriptions in Finnish, Swedish and English. This helps customers find your company when they search in different languages.

Keep your company information up to date

The information in the Vaasa Region Business and Service Directory is mainly based on information from the Finnish Patent and Registration Office's Business Information System. VASEK adds the company’s information to its business register when the company is established. VASEK also updates company information as part of its work, but companies themselves are the most important source of information.

For this reason, we will send companies a text message on 4 November to remind them to check and update their information.

– When you receive a text message from us, you can safely click the link in the message. The link takes you to a form where you can update your information. You can also check your company's information in the register already now, before receiving the text message. You can send us a contact request through the form in the register. We will then send you an update link by email, Hietikko-Koljonen explains.

You can ask us to update your company information through the Business and Service Register at any time. If your contact details, services or other company information change, please let us know as soon as possible.

If you cannot find your company in the register, please let us know.

How do I update my company information?

Checking and updating your company information is easy:

• Search for your company in the Vaasa Region Business and Service Register
• Check your company's basic information and information about your products and services.
• Click Report changes in company details at the bottom of the page.
• We will send you an email with a link that you can use to update your company information.
• You will also receive a text message from VASEK on 4 November. You can update your information through the link in the text message.
• If you cannot find your company in the register, please let us know.
• If your company information changes later, you can update it through the Business and Service Register or send us an email to [email protected].

Being listed in the Business and Service Register and updating your information is always free of charge.
