This week we had the great pleasure of welcoming a group of seven international journalists to experience EnergyWeek and the Vaasa region.

During their visit, the journalists explored not only EnergyWeek itself, but also our unique energy cluster, education pathway, higher education institutions, and the many elements that contribute to the high quality of life in the Vaasa region.

They had the opportunity to visit leading companies in the cluster, including Wärtsilä’s Sustainable Technology Hub, EPV Energy’s innovative energy storage solution in Vaskiluoto, Danfoss Drives, and VEO - each showcasing cutting-edge solutions driving the global energy transition.

At the University of Vaasa Vaasan yliopisto, the group was introduced to the region’s strong connection between research, business, and innovation, as well as the Energy Transition Valley initiative and advanced energy laboratories supporting a sustainable future.

Naturally, EnergyWeek itself offered a comprehensive overview of current industry topics through seminars, exhibitions, and networking opportunities. A special focus was also on the Vaasa region’s unique energy education pathway, highlighted through the EnergyWeek NextGen concept, where even the youngest future innovators are engaged.

In addition to the professional program, the visitors experienced something equally important: the essence of Finnish happiness. The Kvarken Archipelago UNESCO World Heritage Site, along with Finnish food and sauna culture, became familiar in the unforgettable setting of Kalle's Inn Resort.

A warm thank you to all journalists for your visit - you're always welcome back! And you know where to find us when you want to learn more about Vaasa, our world-class energy cluster, and what makes life here truly unique.
