Following the second workshop on 5 June 2019, the Sino-Finnish Research Centre for Science, Technology and Innovations would hereby like to invite you to join the workshop:

Practical Strategies for Doing Business in China-IP Strategies, Contracts and Decision-making

Aim:

To identify practical solutions dealing with key issues raised by participants during previous workshops. These strategies generated during the workshop can serve as specific guidelines for firms at Ostrobothnia in doing business in China. The ideas will also be applied in the development of a strategic roadmap on Sino-Finnish business cooperation at Ostrobothnia.

  • Mr Jari Vepsäläinen, Chairman and CEO of Fintrade Mercer Group

Mr Jari Vepsäläinen is a China trained attorney and has actively served as a strategic ninvestment advisor and corporate lawyer in the People’ s Republic of China for more than 34 years. He has managed direct foreign investments into China in various industrial fields such as petrochemical, energy, shipbuilding, telecommunication, healthcare, real estate, environmental protection and education.

Mr Vepsäläinen is specialised in structuring international corporate formats, establishment of China entities and Hong Kong holding company formations for foreign investors targeting the China market. He serves as the Chairman, Board Director & Supervisor at several wholly foreign owned and joint venture corporations in China and Hong Kong. These roles offer Mr Vepsäläinen a rare opportunity to be an insider in various related business fields. His board responsibilities typically involve handling of government relations with the Chinese authorities,
directing corporate legal and investor matters and taxation planning issues.
