Well paid Energy Ambassador benchmarks Denmark

University student Tuomas Vanhanen has Finland’s or maybe even the World’s best summer job as Energy Ambassador for EnergyVaasa network. He will earn 30,000 euro plus lucrative benefits by working 12 weeks for the 12 top companies during the summer, and even visits Denmark 24-25 July. No wonder the campaign has received vast media attention in Finland.

The Energy Ambassador’s task is to spread the word about the significance Vaasa region’s energy technology concentration, and to tell about his experiences in the social media. The position offers outstanding opportunities for networking with global companies and to get into the core of the field of energy.

Denmark is known for being a forerunner in the field of renewable energy and leading the transition to a green growth economy. Therefore it is a must that the Energy Ambassador gets to visit Denmark and study the steps Denmark has taken. During his visit in Copenhagen, Tuomas will be hosted by the Copenhagen Airport, Blue1, State of Green Consortium and Finpro, the Finnish trade promotion organization.

The background for this large recruitment campaign lies in the growth of the energy market, in which renewable forms of energy production and decentralized energy production play a large role. Today, the Vaasa region has the best employment situation in all of Finland, and companies in the region recruit constantly more competent employees. Vaasa region is the Nordic leader in energy technology, producing 12 % of Finland’s total technology industry exports. The focus areas of the energy technology companies are energy efficiency and renewable energy.
