Lasse Pohjala VASEK’s New Internationalisation Expert

Lasse Pohjala, M.Sc., 51, started on 1 February 2013 as Vaasa Region Development Company VASEK’s Senior Business Advisor, in charge of establishment and internationalisation services. Pohjala’s field of responsibility is the Invest In services for enterprises establishing themselves in the Vaasa Region, internationalisation services and export and import trade.

VASEK offers its clients counselling in internationalisation – when export-oriented issues are concerned, in collaboration with, for example, Viexpo – and services to help foreign companies and investors to establish themselves in the region in cooperation with Invest In Finland. VASEK’s most important partners locally include cities and municipalities; Viexpo; the Ostrobothnia Chamber of Commerce; the Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment for Ostrobothnia and the Technology Centre Merinova.

Pohjala lives in Korsholm, the municipality surrounding Vaasa, and worked previously for 11 years as Bodycote Lämpökäsittely Oy’s local manager in Vaasa. He has extensive knowledge of the metal industry and networks within that field.

Pohjala is excited about the new challenges ahead:
“I look forward to my new duties. There’s plenty of potential in the Vaasa region for successful industrial activities. My goal is to bring my own know-how and experience and use them to benefit the enterprises establishing themselves in the region and also for companies engaging in export,” he says.

VASEK’s Managing Director Pekka Haapanen is happy that the period of the temporary shortage of staff is over and that VASEK once again has a full team:
