EnergySpin, the business accelerator for energy sector startups, has successfully started the first phase. Companies chosen for the spring’s accelerator program were able to discuss with the partner companies immediately during the first phase.

Accelerator’s partner companies are global and leading companies in energy sector and professionals of digitalization. The startup companies that applied to accelerator also hoped to start cooperation with them.

– I applied to EnergySpin because I hope to find new business opportunities with partner companies, says Jarkko Malinen from Fuusio Labs.

Startup entrepreneur Andrey Shigaev also applied to EnergySpin because of the partner cooperation but also because the accelerator provides networks.

– My company develops and manufactures electrochemical energy storages and we plan to start manufacturing in Vaasa. EnergySpin is a gateway to Vaasa energy cluster, says Shigaev.

Cleantech Venture Days are the highlight of the accelerator

The first phase of the accelerator, Product Excellence, started on April 17th and it lasted about two weeks. During the first phase, the startup companies have learned about business from investor’s perspective. They have also worked on company’s storytelling and value proposition. Value proposition means how a product can give more value to a customer.

The cooperation with EnergySpin partner companies started as early as during the first phase, and the role of cooperation is important during the program.

– Partners have discussed possibilities to start joint projects in the future with the startup companies. Thanks to EnergySpin, both the partners and startups are able to develop their business, says EnergySpin’s Key Account Manager Marko Kuokkanen.

In mid-May, after Product Excellence phase, the second phase called Go to Market will begin. The last phase Investor Excellence will start in June, and its highlight is an event named Cleantech Venture Days organized in Helsinki and Lahti on June 12th-13th.
