We Need Cooperation in Communication
Suvi Markko started as VASEK's Communication Manager at the beginning of May. Her task is to head the process of creating a solid and strong image of the Vaasa region as one of the most significant regions in Finland. It is a matter of working together with the municipalities, companies,
schools and other organizations in the region.
"Our region is an international, growing and competitive forerunner in the energy sector, and a really good place to live, work and study as well," Mrs Markko exclaims. "We have to spread these facts to a wider audience, in order to get more talented people here as employees, students
and e.g. tourists."
The city of Vaasa has, together with VASEK and the Ostrobothnian Chamber of Commerce, built a mutual communication project, which aims at the same goal. Suvi Markko will now carry out this project together with the other participants.
Markko knows that her task is not going to be easy, but she is enthusiastic and believes, that in cooperation with several organizations, it can be done.
"The Vaasa region needs mutual and coordinated communication to specified target groups", she adds.
Suvi Markko is looking forward to starting cooperation with the Merinova Technology Centre's new Marketing Director, Robert Olander who is marketing the region's energy cluster here in Finland and abroad. "We have the mutual goal of making our energy cluster better known also outside our own region", Markko says.
Suvi Markko is a Master of Economic Sciences (Marketing) and she lives in Vaasa with her family. She has a history of working with communication in Wärtsilä and with marketing leading brands within the Finnish food industry.
