EnergyWeek, the international event for energy technology professionals, takes place once again in Vaasa on 20–24 March 2017. The number of events has grown year after year, and this year there are 10 events and many side events. The number of visitors has grown each year, and more than 4,000 visitors are expected this year.

The week opens as usual with the Energy and Environment seminar that focuses on the most topical energy issues in Finland. Among the speakers at the event are Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Kai Mykkänen and the Mayor of the City of Vaasa Tomas Häyry. Because of its national focus, the event is the only Finnish-language event of the week, whereas all the other events are international and conducted in English.

On Tuesday there are three events: the two-day Vaasa Wind Exchange & Solar with a focus on renewable energy, the Energy Business Forum, which is a new event presenting international investment opportunities within the energy sector, and Sales Café, with emphasis on selling and marketing skills. Among the speakers on Tuesday are Member of Parliament Ville Niinistö and MEP Miapetra Kumpula-Natri.

Wednesday is the most intensive day of the week. That is when the Cyber Security & Digitalization, a seminar dealing with the topical subject of energy cyber security, is organized as well as the Energy Regulation seminar with emphasis on regulation of the energy sector. The networking event Energy Match also continues on Thursday and offers professionals an opportunity to create new contacts and do business.

On Thursday, energy startups get wind under their wings at EnergySpin. Vaasa Gas Exchange takes place the same day, with MEP Henna Virkkunen as one of the speakers.

The week concludes as usual with Energy & Buildings on Friday. The seminar presents the latest energy solutions in buildings and the building sector, affecting thus nearly all citizens.

The side events during the week include apart from company visits for example a tour to the local brewery and restaurant Bock’s Brewery, a guided ATV tour as well as evening entertainment. Above all, the week offers new information, contacts, ideas and inspiration for everyone interested in the energy sector.
