With the coming of summer, the Latvian airline company Air Baltic has increased flight frequencies on its routes including Vaasa, which can now be reached six times a week.

Air Baltic has operated the route since March 2010 with four flights a week with propeller aircrafts.- Every now and then we will also see jet planes on the route, says Jyrijaakko Ritamies, Air Baltics Area Manager in Finland. From Vaasa there will be flights via Umeå to Riga six times a week as well.

Ritamies is pleased with the positive development of the route's popularity.
- Passengers head mainly to Europe, which is easily reached with the company's excellent connections via Riga. The high season of leisure travel is starting now in June, and the number of advance bookings is looking really good.

This summer Air Baltic offers additional flights to Warsaw, Gdansk and Bari via Riga. In total, Air Baltic adds three new destinations and offers more flights on 12 routes. In Finland, Air Baltic flies from eight cities: Vaasa, Helsinki, Lappeenranta, Tampere, Turku, Oulu, Kuopio and Rovaniemi.
